Difficulty levels:

* Level 1

Beginner

Experience: No previous trekking experience required

Fitness level: Anyone with a basic level of fitness, the young and elderly

Duration: 2 hours

Elevation gain: Up to 100m

Distance: 1-2 km

Trail conditions/details: Trails are dirt tracks or single track paths generally in good condition, the walk/activity will involve walking up and down very gentle hills and on flat terrain for no more than 2/3 hours in total with breaks to eat, drink and enjoy the views

You won't need to carry a backpack as the transport will be close by


** Level 2

easy

Experience: No previous trekking experience required

Fitness level: Must have a base level of fitness, you must take part in sporting/physical activity at least once per month

Duration: 3-4 hours

Elevation gain: 100-200m

Distance: 2-6 km

Trail conditions/details: Generally in good condition with some loose gravel and rocks on the route, includes steeper gradients and continuous walking for long periods of time, with breaks to drink water and have lunch.

You will need to carry: A small pack with a jacket, 1 litre of water, and some food


*** LEVel 3

mid level

Previous trekking experience required

Fitness level: Must have an above average level of fitness, you must do cardio vascular exercise (cycling, running, swimming etc.) each week to do this type of trek comfortably

Duration: 4-6 hours

Elevation gain: 200m-500m

Distance: 6-12 km

Trail conditions/details: Loose gravel, rocks and hard packed soil on the route, will include steeper gradients and continuous walking for long periods of time, with breaks to drink water and have lunch and eat snacks.

You will need to carry: A small back pack with a jacket, 1.5 litres of water, some food and snacks


****Level 4

difficult

Previous trekking experience required (You must enjoy a challenge)

Fitness level: Must have a good level of fitness must do some form of cardio vascular exercise (cycling, running, swimming etc.) more than once per week to complete the trek comfortably

Duration: 4-8 hours

Elevation gain: 500m-900m

Distance: 6-18 km 

Trail conditions/details: Loose gravel, rocks, hard packed soil, sections with no path, steep sections, mild exposure to the side of the path

You will need to carry: A small back pack with a jacket, 1.5-2 litres of water, some food and snacks


*****LEVEL 5

Very difficult

A high level of previous experience required

Fitness level: Must have a high level of fitness: you must practice cardio vascular exercise (cycling, running, swimming etc.) 2-3 times per week

Duration: 6-10 hours

Elevation gain: 900-1200m

Distance: 12-20 km / day

Trail conditions/details: Loose gravel, rocks and soil, steep sections with no path, there may be sections with high levels of exposure.

You will need to carry: a medium to large back pack with, 2-3 litres of water, food and snacks.


******level 6

Extreme

Multi day expedition trek at high altitude over 4000m
